Tact. Style. Elegance.
These words describe in a nutshell some of the most important virtues of Victorian ladies. And they are the first that came to my mind when sketching out the collection.
The beautifully dressed ladies in all the paintings that are being asked for a dance or that stroll through a park. The dutiful wives, queens and consorts that were demure and tactful and stayed in the background. They all bring this to mind.
Although there is much to say against the position of women in Victorian society on a lot of levels, I sometimes feel that these undeniably admirable qualities of tact, style and elegance have become quite rare in today’s society.
So, it doesn’t always need the fanciest and most fashionable outfit to be elegant and in style. It is how you hold yourself and the values that you bring to the table towards yourself and everybody else.
The painting will be shipped without the floating frame it is photographed in.
