Natasha Rambova

A ballet dancer turned star turned Egyptologist

Hi, I'm Kat!
What I am most passionate about is to inspire you to see that your life is your own and biggest masterpiece.

If there is one thing standing out for me about Old Hollywood, it’s the fashion. The elaborate costumes, the glitz, the gigantic trains, the trimmings, the hats – film fashion was something from another world. And one of the great ones was Natasha Rambova who designed some of the most memorable costumes when working with Ala Nazimova. But this lady ha more to her name than one would think.

First of all, she wasn’t actually Russian – she adopted the name when she ran away with her instructor from the Russian Ballet. When she arrived in Hollywood, she started with designing costumes, turned to screenwriting and acting and became the wife of the biggest star back then – Valentino (and no, not the one from the Milan Fashion Week). But that story got even more twisted. Listen to the podcast and find out how she ended up in Egypt and what she contributed to the scientific community. She is goals!
